What is the course aim?:- To Train personnel in the knowledge needed to carry out cable and service avoidance work in order to safeguard themselves and others.
Course Objectives:-

Electrofusion Course Training
Course Objectives
Introduction to common thermoplastics (PVC, PP, PE, PVDF); key processing techniques; joint preparation; defects and how to avoid them; process control, inspection and testing, health and safety; practical butt fusion and electrofusion welding in polypropylene or polyethylene.

Individuals with limited or no experience of these manual welding processes wishing to learn skills; maintenance staff required to install plastic fabrications; welding engineers unfamiliar with these processes; engineering apprentices.

Butt Fusion Course Training
Course Objectives
Basics of plastics welding; overview of welding equipment; the welding stack; horn design; tooling design; component design for welding; effect of materials; welding parameters; process control; fault finding; practical demonstration on equipment set-up and control.

Signing, Lighting and Guarding Training
Course Objectives
- Understand the safety implications of carrying out streetworks, with particular reference to the protection of persons engaged on the worksand avoidance of danger to the general public
- Appreciate the need to maintain the free movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic at the site of the works to comply with the restrictions imposed by the works and the adoption of safe working practices
- Demonstrate the correct layout of appropriate signs, barriers, lamps, warning notices etc in compliance with the relevant advisory documents
- Recognise conditions that may necessitate the introduction of special
- measures such as the installation of portable traffic signals, traffic diversion, road closure etc
- Maintain the correct operation of portable traffic signals and reposition equipment as work proceeds.

If this course is to be undertaken away from our training centre, adequate facilities in the form of a roadway with the unpredicted movement of both vehicles and pedestrians, together with the necessary signs, cones and barriers
Winching Course Training
Course Objectives
- This course enables the operator to understand the principles of winching, realise the possible hazards and health and safety and risk management and assess a suitable method of use to maintain personal, vehicle and contents safety, and gain experience in the use of a winch for moving an object from point A to B
- Training is a legal requirement if you are using winches for business purposes. The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) require employers to provide adequate training and to ensure that winches are only operated by employees who have received appropriate training in their safe use. If you are self-employed, the regulations still apply.
Related to these are the requirements of the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurences Regulations 1995
