All crane operator training is carried out in small groups so that you receive plenty of individual attention, supplemented by course materials. We work closely with the Health and Safety Executive to endure that our materials reflect current safe working practices.
All our crane operators training courses are approved through the Lantra Awards scheme and are approved for accreditation with CITB.

Lorry Crane Operator Training Course
This lorry crane training course is one of a range of crane and lift truck training courses we offer. It is a 1 day integrated training and assessment course for a maximum of 4 people. However, this time period can be extended to 2 days as necessary to cover any specific job training.
This course covers:-
- Counterbalance - Understanding the requirements for the counterbalance and taking the necessary action to meet these requirements
- The meaning of safe working loads
- Detracting the crane using load handling attachments
- Loading
- Slinging and attaching loads to the crane correctly
- Using the correct lifting gear
- Signaling
- The risks involved in handling loads
- Stability - Understanding the factors which lead to instability and taking the necessary action to ensure the crane is used in as stable a working position as possible
- Maintaining the crane to the manufacturer's recommended standards
Pier Crane Operator Training Course
This is a 1 day integrated training and assessment course for a maximum of 4 people. Although, this may be extended to 2 days if required for specific job training.
This course covers:-
- Counterbalance - Understanding the requirements for the counterbalance and taking the necessary action to meet these requirements
- The meaning of safe working loads
- Detracting the crane using load handling attachments
- Loading
- Slinging and attaching loads to the crane correctly
- Using the correct lifting gear
- Signaling
- The risks involved in handling loads
- Stability - Understanding the factors which lead to instability and taking the necessary action to ensure the crane is used in as stable a working position as possible
- Maintaining the crane to the manufacturer's recommended standards
- Loading or unloading a boat, barge or lorry at a pier correctly and safely

CPCSA02 - Crawler Crane
Course Objectives:-
- Basic construction, names of components and the purpose and use of all controls and gauges
- Use of the operator’s handbook, etc
- Pre-use and running checks
- Configuring the crawler crane for travel
- Operator documentation, test and thorough examination certificates, method statements, lift plans, duties charts etc
- Using the Rated Capacity Indicator
- Manoeuvring the crane, progressing to manoeuvring in confined areas
- Crane configurations and set up
- Lifting accessories • Lifting loads and placing loads accurately
- Responding to signals and instructions
- Travelling with suspended loads (pick and carry only)
- Controlling load swings
- Changing the number of falls of rope on a hook block and terminal fittings
- Precautions and actions for overhead services and other hazards
- How to stay within working parameters
- Placing the crane in and out-of-service condition
- Loading and unloading procedures on and off a transporters
- Rigging and de-rigging procedures for the lattice type of extension or fly jib
- Trained operator achievement test
Duration: Novice - Ten days; Experienced - One day assessment

CPCSA04 - Tower Crane
Course Objectives:-
- Basic construction, names of components and the purpose and use of all controls and gauges
- Use of the operator’s handbook, etc
- Pre-use and running checks
- Operator documentation, test and thorough examination certificates, method statements, lift plans, duties charts etc
- Safety procedures when accessing end of jib
- Bringing the crane into service and functional and warning system checks
- Changing the number of falls of rope on a hook block and terminal fittings
- Lifting accessories
- Pre-lift checks and lifting loads
- Responding to signals and instructions
- Placing loads accurately
- Precautions and actions for proximity hazards
- How to stay within safe working parameters including controlling load swings
- Placing the crane in and out-of-service condition
- Trained operator achievement test
